Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of the basics of public administration of religious security as a component of national security of Ukraine. The conceptual and terminological apparatus of the research, in particular the concept of “religious security”, reveals the factors of religious security, including intra-religious and foreign-religious stability, the presence of a comprehensive strategy of socio-political and spiritual development of the state. In the course of the research the author draws attention to the lack of a unified approach in legal and administrative doctrine to the understanding of the definition and content of national security in general and religious security as its component in particular. A study of the content of regulations governing religious security shows their declarative nature, “unaddressed”, and in most cases they lack a clear mechanism for implementing and monitoring the implementation of the precepts they contain. The author provides a definition of relations in the field of religious security and outlines their features in the context of public administration. Particular attention is paid to the characteristics of the components of the state’s policy in the field of religious security. An analysis of institutional support, in particular the system of state bodies whose activities are aimed at establishing, ensuring and implementing religious security. The author described the legal basis of state regulation of religious security in Ukraine as an element of the mechanism of state management of national security and identified shortcomings in the legal regulation of this area. The author also draws attention to the importance of scientific and informational components of this mechanism. The author also identified the role and importance of the scientific and information component of this mechanism as important components aimed at informing the public about real and potential threats and manifestations of their destructive impact, both individually and nationally and internationally. Based on the study, conclusions were drawn on the understanding of the essence of the mechanism of state religious security of Ukraine as a component of national security in Ukraine and the prospects for further research.
