ANALYSIS OF THE EXPERIENCE OF STATE COOPERATION BETWEEN ROMANIA AND THE CZECH REPUBLIC AS MEMBERS OF THE NORTH ATLANTIC ALLIANCE

Abstract

As part of the guarantee of their own security and the observance of the territorial integrity of their countries, the states resort to restructuring their own foreign policy priorities, choosing the path to Euro-Atlantic integration. The article highlights the foreign and domestic aspects of the integration of the Romanian and Czech republics into the North Atlantic Alliance through the prism of the history of the new democracy in Central and Eastern Europe and its defense strategy. The external reasons for accelerating the involvement of these republics in the ranks of NATO member states are analyzed, the main geopolitical factors of the importance of the inclusion of states in the transatlantic system of international security are considered. Important elements in the development of countries as members of the North Atlantic Alliance were democratic reforms, market economies, modernization of the armed forces, participation in international peacekeeping operations and changes in the regional order and, consequently, increased foreign interest in regional security. Particular attention is paid to reforms in the military sector of these countries. It was found that on their way to NATO, Romania and the Czech Republic not only made internal changes in various spheres of socio-political life to achieve their goal, but also received support for their Euro-Atlantic aspirations by rebuilding the global security picture and the importance of their geopolitical position. which continue to play an important role today in ensuring regional security. Ukraine needs to prepare for a new range of tasks related to the development and strengthening of the Rapid Reaction Force by equipping it with state-of-theart weapons upgraded to NATO standards to ensure rapid accession to NATO.
