CIRCULAR ECONOMY FOR FOOD AND PROCESSING ENTERPRISES

Rapid industrialization and urbanization have a negative impact on the environment and result in the irrational use of resources. Accordingly, the issue arises of revising the basic stages of raw material production, product manufacturing, and its implementation, taking into account the principles of the circular economy.It has been determined that the linear economic model is outdated, therefore, responsible resource use based on the principles of the circular economy is relevant, which can be an instrument for rapid growth and recovery of our country in the post-war period, particularly for food and processing enterprises.The purpose of this work is to provide an overview of the important issues that arise during the implementation of technological processes in the production and sale of food products. It has been established that the prospect for the development of food production is an eco- innovation process, which represents a synergy of seeking innovative and comprehensive solutions based on the principles of the circular economy and the implementation of environmental changes in food industry enterprises.It has been established that one of the biggest problems of humanity is the irrational use of resources, in particular, a significant amount of waste, of which over 41 % is food waste.This is a global problem influenced by various socio-economic and socio-cultural factors, as well as inefficiencies both within and between production, processing, packaging, distribution, retail, consumption, and waste disposal systems. Rational use and recycling cover a wide range of issues that need to be addressed comprehensively.Accordingly, manufacturers should pay attention to harmonizing approaches to the organization of production, technological processes, and food consumption in accordance with the principles of the circular economy. To do this, it is necessary to comprehensively address key issues, continuously seek innovative and comprehensive solutions, and implement an eco-innovation process in food industry enterprises.
